We are challenging to do reproduction Lao traditional pattern skirt. We have  purpose to keep these Lao weaving technique for the future.

It's from collection of Ms. chantason. She is a founder of our centre.  Original was dyed by chemical dye. but we got color by natural dye. -About the pattern- Motifs : Siho(Lion-elephant carrying a frog -man, bird and Naga. Technique : Supplementary continuous weft and Ikat weft. ​

Sorry we not sure about a motif of this pattern.
Some of our staff thought this motif came from tool for special festival at temple of their Buddhist customs.

It's from textiles collection in HO MOUNE THAENTAENG MUSEUM.  -About the textile- Name : Sin Choktaa. Period : Early 1930's Group : Tai Dam,Tai Daeng and Tai ethnics,Hiaphanh province. Technique : Discontinuous and continuous Supplementary weft. Motif : Spiraled-tail Naga,Lozenge shape,rattan flower and rectangular pattern.

These Lao skirt by houeyhong's hand woven are going to show and sell in Lao Handicraft Festival at Lao-ITECC from October 26 to November 1.

We hope many people will come to see Lao traditional weaving and dyeing technique in this show.

SHIFU is one of Japanese weaving technique. 
In Houey hong centre , this weaving tecnique is one of the main product to sell.
Specially, to combine Lao posa paper and Lao traditional different patterns and natural dyeing to make Japanese people traditional OBI to sell to them.

Centre has order to posa paper yarn with villager in Vangvieng.
This time, we could visit place of production a posa paper yarn.

The Lao posa paper weaving coaster is a original item by villager.

We also use Lao posa paper to weave table cloth and material to make bags etc.

The intention of our centre is to use new material "Posa paper yarn " to create a new wave in Lao weaving and to encourage to Japanese people to re-use their old culture of paper weaving.

Houey hong training centre and Ma Te Sai ,
It was held the opening of the new True Colour a joint venture handcraft in Laos on Aug 25.

​We threw a little party to welcome our Vientiane friends to the new-look True Colour store. The space is a new retail collaboration from  Houey Hong Vocational Training Centre and Ma Té Sai. The partnership brings together handmade Lao homewares, accessories and gifts in stunning hanwoven silks and beautiful cottons. Ms. Chanthasone Inthavong, founder of Houey Hong, and Emi Weir, founder of Ma Té Sai, officially opened the store, and guests enjoyed drinks, Lao snacks and lucky door prizes! 

We are now open Monday-Saturday from 8.30-20.30.
Come in and visit the retail team Tony and Phout, or have a garment whipped up by in-house tailor That.
