Depart via our minivan from True Colours store in Vientiane city centre at 8.30am or 1.30pm. You are greeted at the centre by your host for the half day and taken on a tour. Then it is time to prepare the pattern for the silk scarf you are going to dye. Learn techniques of folding, tieing, and clamping (all methods part of the well-known traditional Japanese art of shibori) to make the pattern. Once completed then it is time to choose your colour made out of natural ingredients;
Indigo fermented (blue), Stickack (pink), Jackfruit (yellow), or Indigo unfermented (light green). Colours will vary on the day and you will have a choice of 2 colours minimum, or 3 colours if a group of 5 people or more.
After dyeing, rinsing and untying and time to hang out the finished work, and enjoy a cool drink or shop in our gift store whilst your scarf dries. Return by van to Vientiane town centre.

Full day workshop is the same format, includes lunch and has you weaving for the whole afternoon, achieving a larger piece to take home.
